Hawaii Just Got Hit By A July Snow Storm | MammothSnowman.com

August 2nd, 2015 – by Chloe Fox – July snowstorms are weird enough. July snowstorms in Hawaii boggle the mind. But that’s what happened at the summit of Mauna Kea on Hawaii’s Big Island on Friday morning.

The combination of passing thunderstorms and near-freezing temperatures led to 1.5 inches of snow and icy conditions, according to a ranger’s report.

First Dusting, is it snow or hail? Looks Like Snow!

7-9-2015 – 11:15 AM Good Day from the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Things are looking very green on Mammoth Mountain at this time. They are also looking a bit white over the top of the ski area. As of 11 am we just broke out of hour long down pour that brought snow levels down to around MC Coy Station with snow sticking about half way down the face of chair 3. Hard to believe it s July 9th and we are getting pouring rain in down off and on and snow above 10,500 feet. I saw on Facebook that Saddlebag lake had like 2-3 inches of snow snow on the ground along with Tioga Pass being closed for some time while they plowed the road. Been a very long time since we have since crazy summer like this With the rain we have been getting the mountain bike park is prime shape with the dust having been cut way back to almost nothing. Highs today will be in the 50s at the Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge, lows are expected to be in the 40s. As we move thru the next couple days temps come back up into the 6

By Sunday we have a chance for several inches of snow for a possible White Easter. More possible snow on Tuesday night into Wednesday. You can say good bye to the warm weather for the next 6-10 days. For complete Snow Fall Forecast and Details check out Weather Guys Latest Post.

Snow Conditions out on Mammoth Mountain: Good Day … Snowman finally got to take a few runs today. I posted some images of what it looked like below.

Our Snow base at this point is on the wane with a base of 6 to 50 inches out on the hill. The grooming crew is trying to save the base by pushing snow off of closed runs and out of the half pipe and slope style courses.

Snow wise we are skiing and riding on machine groomed spring snow. The mountain is trying to keep things going w

2-4 Feet of new snow now forecast over Mammoth Mountain this weekend…. | MammothSnowman.com

2-6-2015 at 7:32PM – Hello everyone.

Yes we have snow falling up on Mammoth Mountain and down into the town of Mammoth Lakes at this hour.

Winds are howling up to 96+ up top with strong gusts to 75+ down canyon through out Mono County and the 395 corridor.

The good news is the one two storm punch is still on the way with a MASSIVE amount of moisture headed right for Mammoth Mountain. Most weather models are in agreement that we could see around 4-6+ inches of water content over Mammoth Mountain by late Monday.

The key to this event is it will be very warm with varying snow levels. It does look like it will be mostly snow with just a bit of rain above 9000 feet at this time. As of now the call would be for 2+ feet around the Main Lodge. Up top we could see as much as 3-4+ feet of sierra cement.

Here are the snowfall event details from the Mammoth Weather Guy.. The Snowfall forecast is for the Sesame snow course (Main Lodge) at 9000 feet.

We have two storms coming in and they will both be a bit warm. Snow levels look to bounce around over the 3 day event.

It does look like it will be mostly snow with just a bit of rain above 9000 feet after noon on Saturday.

This storm is still on track to bring in as much as 2-3 feet of Sierra Cement from MC Coy Station to the top of Mammoth Mountain by Monday night.

2-4 Inches of New Snow from Tuesdays Snow Showers | MammothSnowman.com

We found 2-4 inches of fresh set up snow out on the mountain this morning from chair two up to the the top.

The new snow really improved conditions on the groomers and a few of the runs off the top. Amazing how much better things got on the opened runs with just a little bit of new snow.

For the rest of the week we are expecting highs to be into the 30’s, and then 40s through the weekend. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s through the weekend for continued snowmaking. On Thursday we get one more quick shot at about an inch of snow and then things will clear out for the weekend.

Mountain winds will be out of the NE today into tonight with gusts to 50+ MPH over the upper elevations. The winds will back off this weekend to about half those speeds.
